Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has officially appointed Dr. Wisdom Ebiye Sawyer as the new Head of the Civil Service of the state. The civil service has entered a new phase with the appointment of Dr. Sawyer as the new Head of Service, a respected administrator with a track record of reform and innovation, he brings to the office a wealth of experience in public administration and institutional management. His appointment signals a commitment to deepening efficiency, accountability and professionalism in the civil service.
Dr. Sawyer who was born on May 14, 1970, became a member of the Bayelsa State civil service on June 8, 1998. He began his career as a Medical Officer and he hails from Odi community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.
Upon resumption of duty, Dr. Sawyer swiftly carried out his first official assignment by effecting the posting of staff to the Pension Board, in line with the directive of the Governor. Those deployed are officers of proven integrity and competence, carefully selected to uphold the highest standards of the civil service. This decisive step reflects his dedication to strengthening pension administration and prioritizing the welfare of both serving and retired officers.
