Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) Bayelsa State Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Head of service Bayelsa State. The Head of Service Dr. Wisdom Ebiye Sawyer mni, assured sustainable collaboration with the institute in his office.
Stressing the need for sustainable collaboration to enhance productivity in the Civil Service, Dr. Sawyer noted that collaboration is both inter-secretory and multiple-secretory within the accounting profession. While encouraging both ICAN and ANAN respectfully to collaborate in oneness to achieve the mandate of the prosperity government saying professionalism comes through discipline. He advised professional accountants in the state to work in oneness to ascertain the goals of the prosperity mandate.
Dr. Sawyer further noted that issues of accountability and meritorious service should be handled properly in the civil service. According to the Head of Service, Service to humanity is service to God. He urged workers to be diligent in service delivery and be productive in their workplace.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Institute Mr. Yelbri Andrew, reiterate that collaboration with the State Government will create premium productivity in the State and the Institute. He further noted that, the essential impact of collaboration is to create opportunities and development within the Civil Service and members of the Institute in the State.
In his vote of thanks the Vice Chairman of the Institute Mr. Jonah De-jonh applauded the Head of Service for his warm welcome and privilege of swift response to their visit. He prayed God to strengthen and give him the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Office of the Head of Service to a greater height.
